Shipping Methods
Relocating overseas shipping methods
There are four shipping methods for relocating overseas. It’s important to understand how each method works if you are moving overseas or shipping goods overseas to find the one that suits you best. Each method has a different cost and time frame.
The options include:
Container sea freight
Known as FCL sea freight (Full Container Load), this shipping method is for cargo loads large enough to fill a 20 foot or 40 foot container. If you book a full container, your goods will be loaded into a shipping container and dispatched on the first available conveyance. You have the flexibility and assurance of knowing your shipping dates and details.
Economy container sea freight
Economy sea freight is the same service as FCL sea freight, except that your goods are loaded into a shared container with other goods. You only pay for the space you use, which reduces the cost compared to FCL sea freight. However, shipping dates don’t have the same certainty as FCL, as the container won’t get shipped until it’s full. We can provide you with an estimated door-to-door transit time based on historic activity. However, your shipment may arrive sooner or later, depending on the level of market demand at your destination at the time.
We provide regular economy-shared container services for the following popular destinations:
LCL sea freight
LCL stands for less than a container load. This method is for shipping goods that aren’t large enough to fill a full 20 foot or 40 foot shipping container. If you choose LCL for shipping, we place your goods into a crate and into a shipping container with other commercial goods bound for the same destination. It gives you the flexibility and certainty of knowing your pre-scheduled shipping dates and delivery details.
Air freight
Air freight is the shipping method for people who need to get their goods to their destination quickly. We offer air freight services for individual loose packages for a small shipment or packaged onto a pallet for larger shipments. Air freight is the most expensive method of shipping.
